Video game dev notes
From AUAK Chronicals
As this wiki is really just a bunch of notes and crappy maps, it's not my final vision for this project, I would ultimately like to have a video game, or tv series. This page will be some notes about my vision for developing this world as a video game.
notes
- open world
- FPV
- MMORPG
- Microphone enabled
- Possibly option to use video of user's face on character's face???
- AI NPCs
- NPCs have jobs for themselves and jobs available for things they need
- open in-game stores to sell real-world items or in-game items
- Players can hire NPCs or other players to do in-game jobs/quests
- Interactive Environments
- ability to build
- Mill wood
- Carve Stone
- Shape earth
- permanently destructive environments
- ability to build
- Story Consequence System - player actions affect how the world treats the player's character and properties (criminal system, Wanted posters, fame)
- able to grow as a character by more than just killing creatures
- killing certain creatures could cause conservation groups to request player's arrest
- Character deaths
- if character not resurrected/reincarnated/healed, that is the end of the character
- this encourages team play or putting characters at less risk
- Full PvP, but with consequences to killing without resurrecting
- some areas become "kill or be killed"
inspiration
- World of Warcraft
- Grand Theft Auto
- Skyrim
- Final Fantasy
Prompt note ideas for AI
Unreal Engine has an AI assistant that might be able to help actually build this world....
- start with a sphere
- Dyson's Sphere
- Add additional material to the exterior of the Dyson's Sphere to create the surface of the world and fill with geological crust material
- Import heightmap as sphere
- Gravity
- Create areas of different rock types
- Erosion
- Moons, suns, the black hole
- Rings and Aurora
- Climate, Temperature, and rainfall maps
- World spins in reverse from Earth
- Create weather patterns and ocean currents
- Maybe rivers and lakes map
- Sky-islands
- Hollow world
- Dyson's Sphere
- Ancient history - planet sized ship built around a small star with a habitable interior surface as well as within the shell structure
- Over time, space debris has built up on the outside of the ship and it has become habitable
- Technological structure halfway between the crust of the outer world and the crust of the inner world
- Two spheres that rotate independently of each other but have paths between that must align to be unlocked
- Tunnels in the crusts the lead between
- High tech control rooms for gravity simulation
- Dyson's Sphere
- Pod landing locations and traveling gates
- Location names and areas
- Destructive, volumetric ground like in Minecraft
- Magic spells that allow shaping the terrain like a 3D sculpting brush
- A loading and unloading system that unloads things that are not in view to save RAM, and LOD for distances
- Foot animation moves the terrain, while the foot is at the bottom of its walking or running animation it pulls the character and view through the landscape.
