Traveling Gates

These gates of teleportation are in various places around the world. Some are in cities, while some in the middle of nowhere. Each gate has guards that are always strong and powerful teams of three to twenty depending on where the gate is, and which gates it is connected to.
The base of these gates is a stone and crystal disk, and emanating from it is a cylinder of glittering light and the sound of tiny chimes that have never faded. Most have vast open-air temples built around them.
