Order of the Golden Goat
When magic began to manifest itself, those with abilities beyond that of normal people, joined together to study and explore their abilities.
The name comes from, as legend tells, a random object found at the location of the first meeting. Legend says that a group of magic users, upon finding each other, decided to gather more together, so they chose a random location in the world and sent messages far and wide to as many communities as their messengers could reach in the two year time frame the Founders gave for recruitment and travel. One hundred came.
When the Founders traveled to the location they had selected, arriving a full year before their scheduled meeting, they found ruins of a temple that had been built long before the Great Kaatyclyzym. This temple contained statues of golden goats, the animal and the chyas.
Some believe that this temple was the built-up home of Brraan Marrowwen, the chyas-goat whom calculated the orbits of the alru and roia, and created the first calendar. But there was never any actual evidence that this was true.
There was one object, in particular, that caught the attention of the Founders, it was a small golden statue of a goat animal. The peculiar thing about this statue was that it was floating in mid air in the middle of the temple ruins. Or so legend says. Later it became clear that this object had other magical powers, and it became the center of all things magical.
However, in 3528, the Golden Goat disappeared.
Accusations of theft quickly brought division among the Order, and it soon was disbanded. This collapse also cause the collapse of the nation of Swyncrest, which became part of the new Kaxakroal. This collapse of the Order, however, lead to the creation of several hundred magic schools around the world.
