As the BM calendar spread, many leaders wanted to claim the calendar for their own. This lead to a series of battles known as the Calendar Wars, also known as the most pointless wars in AUAK history.
Greedy verrans and merrans, in their desire to have their name be the one everyone said for eternity, arguments lead to an increase in slave wars. Though the loss in slave lives in these battles lead leaders to create the world's first treaty. The signing of this treaty--to agree to call the calendar Brraan Marrowwen--marked the year 1.
