Aves

Physical Description: Aves are humanoid hawks with feathers covering their bodies. They have sharp talons and a beak that they can use as natural weapons. Aves have a wingspan of about 7 feet, but they cannot fly without magical assistance.

Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Strength score increases by 1.

Age: Aves mature at a similar rate to humans, reaching adulthood around age 18. They can live up to 70 years.

Alignment: Aves are generally independent and value their freedom, but they can be of any alignment.

Size: Aves are similar in size to humans, standing between 5 and 6 feet tall and weighing between 100 and 200 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision: Thanks to your avian ancestry, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Flightless: Although you have wings, you cannot fly without magical assistance. However, you can use your wings to glide for short distances. When you fall, you can use your reaction to reduce the falling damage you take by an amount equal to five times your level.

Natural Weapons: You have a beak and talons that you can use as natural weapons. Your beak deals piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier, and your talons deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier.

Language: You can speak, read, and write Common and Aves. Aves is a language spoken by Aves, and is typically only known by those who have spent time around them.

Hawk's Eye: You have proficiency in the Perception skill, and advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks made to spot hidden objects or creatures.

Keen Senses: You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight or hearing.
